Oregon St. has received their 4th commitment for their 2014 football recruiting class, as Sumner Houston, from De LaSalle High in Concord, CA, has announced his decision to become a Beaver.
Houston is a 6'3", 260 lb. Defensive End for the Spartans. Last year, he helped the legendary De LaSalle program roll to a 15-0 record, with only one of the victories by a single digit margin. Houston had 51 tackles and 7 sacks on the season, and also started at tackle on the offensive line for the Spartans, but will focus on defense at Oregon St.
Houston is a 3 star prospect, and chose Oregon St. over offers from FBS programs Nevada, New Mexico St., and Army, and a number of Big Sky teams, including Cal Poly, UC Davis, and Portland St.
Here's Houston's highlight video from the 2012 season.
Houston is the first line commit for next year for Oregon St.
Current Beaver running back Terron Ward is also from De LaSalle.
