Arizona State blasted Oregon State Saturday night, ultimately winning 11-5. ASU pitcher Justin Fall was excellent pitching 7.1 innings and allowing just two runs. The Sun Devil batters took care of the rest hitting 5 home runs on the night. For the Beavers Cooper Hjerpe got the start on the mound and struggled lasting just three innings while allowing seven runs. Hjerpe has been pitching really well this season but tonight was just not his night.
After falling behind 7-0 after three innings Oregon State settled down and started to play better. Salgado and Burns pitched a few solid innings in relief and the Beavers started to heat up on offense. Including hitting some home runs of their own. Oregon State managed to record 9 hits off of ASU’s starting pitcher, but they never could get the timely hits needed to drive in runs and really make this a ball game.

Oregon State tried to make in interesting in the 9th inning. Matthew Gretler hit a two-out bomb and one batter later Wade Meckler also smashed a homer. It was too little, too late though as the Sun Devils were able to get the final out and get the comfortable win.
The final game between OSU and ASU will kick off at 12:30 PM PT tomorrow. Arizona State will be providing a live stream on pac-12.com.
