OSU WBB: Associate Head Coach Brian Holsinger Tabbed As New Montana Women’s Head Basketball Coach

Holsinger inked a four-year deal to lead the Lady Grizz.

Oregon State associate women’s basketball coach Brian Holsinger, who has been serving under head coach Scott Rueck since 2016, has accepted a position as the new head coach as the head women’s basketball coach at Montana, per a press release from the university.

During Holsinger’s stay in Corvallis, the Beavers accumulated a 118-38 overall record, with two trips to the Sweet Sixteen and one Elite Eight appearance in 2017–18. He’s overseen the growth of countless legendary Oregon State talents including Sydney Wiese, Mikayla Pivec, Destiny Slocum, Aleah Goodman and more.

Prior to his time at Oregon State, Holsinger spent time as an assistant coach at Washington State and previously a head coach at NAIA school Montana Tech. Beavers head women’s basketball coach commented on Holsinger’s hiring, stating “I am excited for Brian in this new opportunity. I am grateful for all he has contributed to our program over the last five years at Oregon State. He brought great energy, positivity, expertise, community, and a warm sense of hospitality. Brian’s impact on our program always went above and beyond coaching in his care for the our students and their families, as he provided an outstanding compliment to the vision of our program and family atmosphere.
