Ethan Thompson, star senior guard for Oregon State, was selected as a member of the 2020-2021 All-Pac-12 First Team on Tuesday, joining nine other players from the conference on the list, including USC’s Evan Mobley.
Mobley, a stand-out freshman from USC, swept the Pac-12’s top honors by claiming the Player of the Year, the Defensive Player of the Year and the Freshman of the Year awards.
Thompson’s inclusion was an easy choice, considering he posted another strong season of top-end production for the Beavers, where he lead the team in both scoring (15.5 PPG) and assists (3.9 APG), while ranking third on the team in rebounding (3.4 RPG). He helped Oregon State to a 14-12 record overall and a #5 seed in the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament, which begins on Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The only other Oregon State player to receive any sort of post-season accolade from the Pac-12 was Warith Alatishe, who grabbed a spot in the Honorable Mention category for the Pac-12 All-Defensive team. Alatishe averaged team-highs of 8.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per contest.
Other notable individual awards include Most Improved Player which went to Stanford’s Jaiden Delaire, Sixth Man of the Year which was chosen to be Arizona’s Jordan Brown and the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year award which was given to USC’s Andy Enfield.
The full list of award winners can be found here on the Pac-12’s website.
