Oregon State’s Women’s Basketball team has been forced to put a pause on all activities due to a case of COVID-19 on the team. That includes tomorrow’s game against Washington, which has been postponed.

With the Christmas break coming, that means the team will be out of action until at least January 1st, when they were scheduled to host UCLA. The status of future games is still up in the air, but the Beavers have almost two weeks to get healthy and stay clear of Covid before any decisions have to be made.

The is the first major disruption to what has become a tough season for the Beavers. After starting the year 3-0, they have since lost three straight, including a blowout loss to Oregon and tough last minute defeat at the hands of Washington State on Saturday. The team is currently ranked 21st, but after this weekend’s defeat and the postponement of the game against Washington, it seems likely they’ll drop out of the top 25.

Of course, all of that is unimportant at the moment. What matters most now is that the team stays safe over the holiday break and puts this thing to rest. We’ll keep you updated as further news develops.
