Oregon State/Washington Game in Jeopardy

COVID-19 could prevent the Beavers from facing the Huskies on Saturday

NCAA Football: Washington State at Oregon State Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday morning college football reporter, Bruce Feldman, tweeted out that Oregon State might not get the greenlight to play on Saturday and as a contingency Washington could play Cal on Sunday.

Earlier this week Oregon State announced one positive COVID test; with three additional players in quarantine and unavailable for the game against Washington. Despite the news, Oregon State’s athletic director, Scott Barnes said on Thursday “We are absolutely playing Saturday, so no issue there.”

Clearly Barnes’ and Feldman’s thoughts are at odds. COVID-19 news (like the virus) travels fast. Cal/ASU has already been cancelled and it seems like Oregon State could be headed into an unexpected bye week.

UPDATES:

  • UCLA vs. Utah has been cancelled. Joining ASU vs. Cal as a cancelled game.
  • Oregon State vs. Washington is a go (according to OSU officials).
