Oregon State’s Athletic Director Scott Barnes announced today that an Oregon State Football player has tested positive for COVID-19. Three other players have entered self-quarantine. Barnes went on the say that this weekend’s road game against Washington is still happening. Steve Gress, writing for the Corvallis Gazette-Times, has more information.

The announcement comes on the heels of Washington State, the Beavers’ opponents last weekend, also announcing a positive coronavirus test. Since returning to play a week ago, the Pac-12 Conference has been wracked by the disease, cancelling two games on the first weekend. College football as a whole has fared no better; a bevy of high profile games have been cancelled or postponed. The SEC was forced to postpone four games this weekend, including the high profile LSU at Alabama matchup.

Oregon State will announce which four players are unavailable for this weekend’s game sometime on Saturday. Kickoff is currently set for 8:00 PM PT. Check back here for further updates as this story develops.
