It’s been a wild ride the last couple of days. On Wednesday an Oregon State official confirmed that Devon Williams had enrolled at the University and Williams was officially added to the Oregon State football roster. Apparently, that wasn’t the case as Devon Williams returned to Los Angeles shortly after his official visit to Corvallis to mull things over.

Today Devon Williams announced on Twitter his decision to become a member of Oregon’s football team.

In his statement Devon Williams said “Thank you to Oregon State University especially Coach Smith for opening their arms to me and my family and giving me the opportunity to play in their program. The past 3 weeks have taught me so much.” He goes on to say his dream school is Oregon and he is excited to be a Duck.

Devon Williams has had a long winding recruitment and almost committed to Oregon out of high school. While it’s obviously unfortunate that Devon Williams picked the Ducks over the Beavers; I’m happy for him and hope he has a successful college career. It’s always best to make the decision that you want and not have to live with any regrets. Oregon State still has an open scholarship and will likely be looking for other potential transfer targets.
