Oregon State has officially made the 2018 college baseball tournament as they try and get back to the College World Series in Omaha. They weren’t guaranteed a spot as Stanford won the Pac-12 and locked up the leagues auto-bid. But as the #2 ranked team in the nation, little drama surrounded this announcement as it was expected that the Beavs would be selected as 1-of-16 host schools.

Oregon State will begin play Friday, June 1st where they will play the region’s fourth-ranked seed. For those unfamiliar with the regional format, it is a double elimination tournament, so the teams could play into Monday if necessary. The winner of the Corvallis regional will advance to a 3 game super regional series the following weekend. Oregon State will likely host the super regional if they win their regional.
Check back tomorrow for a more in depth preview of the Corvallis regional as the rest of the field is announced.
