In the final game of their non-conference schedule, the Oregon State Women put together another dominant victory. The Beavers never trailed in the game, and had built a 16 point lead by halftime. In the second half, the Beavers buried the Roadrunners, only allowing 12 points while scoring 27 themselves. The fourth quarter was just as lopsided, with OSU cruising to the 40 point win.
With non-conference play done, the Beavers sit at 10-2. The win over CSB is unlikely to improve the Beavers’ national rank of 11, unless someone ahead of them slips up, but it’s nice to enter conference play with momentum.
Mikayla Pivec was perfect today. I mean that literally, Pivec did not miss a shot. 9 for 9 from the field, including 3 for 3 on three point shots, and 1 for 1 from the foul line. That’s a total of 22 points. Pivec also had 10 rebounds, for a double-double.
Kat Tudor also had a big game, and did it exclusively from behind the arc. Of the 11 shots Tudor attempted, all 11 were 3 pointers. She made 5 of them, for a total of 15 points. Katie McWilliams also finished the day with 15 points.
The team as a whole was perfect from the foul line, making every one of the 16 foul shots they attempted.
The Beavers also absolutely demolished Bakersfield when it came to rebounding, with 55 total rebounds to the Roadrunners 24. Oregon State had more offensive rebounds (14) than CSU Bakersfield had defensive rebounds (13).
The Beavers start Pac-12 play next weekend, taking on Washington State on Friday, January 4th and Washington on Sunday, January 6th. Building the Dam will have previews for both games, but be sure to get down to Gill to cheer the team on.
