BTD Fantasy Football: Waiver-Wire Pickups & Injuries

Christian McCaffrey is a stud and Melvin Gordon’s injury came at the worst possible time.

Playoffs are right around the corner starting in week 13 or 14 depending on your league and this is when it gets serious. You might still be fighting for the playoffs and if that is the case, just go all out and do whatever it takes to win this last week. If you are comfortably in the playoffs, it’s time to start stock piling defenses who have favorable playoff match-ups (Denver) and start picking up those handcuffs.

Also injuries are playing a big factor. Melvin Gordon might be seriously injured (Ekeler = priority) and Jack Doyle was placed on injured reserve. Also, Leonard Fournette got himself suspended, so Carlos Hyde and TJ Yeldon are valuable one-week streamers. This is a big week for waiver-wire pickups, so don’t be idle it’s playoff time.

TOP WAIVER-WIRE PICKUPS (Nov. 27th)

Running Backs
  1. Austin Ekeler - San Diego Chargers
  2. Gus Edwards - Baltimore Raves
  3. Josh Adams - Philadelphia Eagles

As previously mentioned Austin Ekeler is very valuable. He might already be owned, but if he is not he should certainly be priority number one. Also, Gus Edwards is looking confident as the lead running back (if you don’t count Lamar Jackson) in Baltimore and should be an asset during the playoffs.

Wide Receivers
  1. Tre’Quan Smith - New Orleans Saints
  2. Josh Reynolds - Los Angeles Rams
  3. DJ Moore - Carolina Panthers
  4. Courtland Sutton - Denver Broncos

If you need wide receiver help don’t worry too much, because you should be able to find great value on the waiver-wire.

Tight Ends
  1. Cameron Brate - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  2. C.J. Uzomah - Cincinnati Bengals
  3. Chris Herndon - New York Jets

Tampa Bay has very good tight ends and OJ Howard being sent to the IR opens the door for Cameron Brate to be a top-10 tight end until the end of the season.

TOP DEFENSES TO STREAM

  1. Den Broncos vs. CIN Bengals
  2. SEA Seahawks vs. SF 49ers
  3. GB Packers vs. AZ Cardinals
  4. KC Chiefs vs. OAK Raiders

Going forward the Denver Broncos have a very favorable playoff schedule. I also like the Seahawks defense as they get the 49ers twice over the next three weeks.

HANDCUFFS?

  1. Malcolm Brown - LA Rams
  2. Spencer Ware - KC Chiefs
  3. Giovani Bernard - CIN Bengals
  4. Cameron Artis-Payne - CAR Panthers

Hopefully if you are a Melvin Gordon owner you also had Austin Ekeler rostered. If you don’t have Ekeler, and can’t get Adams or Gus and you are completely desperate for a running back, LeGarrette Blount or Doug Martin could fill in for a week or two.

BTD’s WEEK TWELVE RECAP:

Standings:

  1. Marcus Russell (11-1)
  2. Justin Sattelmaier (8-4)
  3. Joe Londergan (7-5)
  4. John Severs (6-6)
  5. Kyle Wilson (6-6)
  6. Albert Lee (6-6)
  7. Erik Briggs (5-7)
  8. Callie Cornilles (4-8)
  9. Travis Johannes (4-8)

Have a great week everybody!
