The Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball program has had fantastic weekend that started with an emotional, hard fought 76-64 win over their arch rival, the Oregon Ducks.
The good news didnt stop there for the Beavers and Wayne Tinkle.
On Saturday afternoon, Oregon State added a verbal commitment from the class 2019 in 6-foot-5 shooting guard/small forward Julien Franklin who is from Villa Park High School in Villa Park, California.

Franklin arrived in Corvallis on Friday to watch the Beavers defeat the Ducks and completed an official visit to Oregon State this past weekend. Franklin chose the Beavers over offers from Columbia, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, Northeastern, Pepperdine, Rice, and UTEP while also receiving interest from Arizona, Long Beach State, and Stanford.
The junior combo guard, who has been recruited by Wayne Tinkle and his staff since he was a freshman in high school, cited the family feel of being in Corvallis and around the current team felt it was the perfect time to commit to the Beavers.
Look for Franklin to continue to put on weight and muscle before eventually arriving in Corvallis, but his athleticism and ability to score the basketball will be valued by Wayne Tinkle and Beaver Nation.
