- Yahoo Sports did a solid look-around of the Pac-12 spring football circuit, giving a brief team-by-team breakdown of each program, with quotes from head coaches, position battle previews, season prognoses, etc.. It’s not only a solid resource for fans of the Beavers, but also to get a pretty good gauge on all the comings-and-goings around the league. Writer Nick Bromberg also gives some strong insight into Oregon State’s specific ideas for the 2017 campaign, including head coach Gary Andersen’s plans for dealing with last year break-out quarterback Conor Blount and fan-favorite Seth Collins. Only a few more months until football, people. Hang in there.
- Andersen and his staff have continued to make some huge waves on the recruiting trail, especially in the state of Georgia, where the Beavers are hoping to establish a unique pipeline some 3,000 miles away. That trend continued when the Beavers were the first to offer 6’ 5”, 295 pound, 2019 offensive tackle Trente Jones from Grayson High School in Loganville, GA. BeaversEdge spoke with Jones, who stated that Clemson had been his favorite visit so far, but he also currently boasts interest (but no offers) from the likes of Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.
- Some basketball news to break-up the football majority, we covered yesterday how five-star guard P.J. Fuller scooped up the Beavers first offer of the 2019 class and it’s now time to start breaking down the athletic prospect’s game, along with Oregon State’s potential chances to land the high-profile player. A recent article from Scout’s Evan Daniels covers Fuller’s experience at the Hoop Summit, while a previous article details how the future star is “next” in line at Seattle’s Nathan Hale High School.
- Oregon State baseball is the #1 team in the country and has been for some time now, which means the high number of both supporters and critics of the team are ready to come out of the woodwork. Over at D1 Baseball, fantastically named writer Shotgun Spratling believes that the Beavers are worth the hype, citing a series win against UCLA that may have sprung momentum back in Oregon State’s favor.
