And so it begins.
On Saturday, Villanova became to the first number one seed to get bounced from the NCAA Tournament, when #8 Wisconsin used a late-Nigel Hayes lay-up to slide past the Wildcats in a tightly contested thriller. That shocking upset, which only added to a day which featured a 53-point second-half rally from #8 Northwestern fall short against #1 Gonzaga, as well as seeing #11 Xavier secure a spot in the Sweet Sixteen over #3 Florida State, embodies the fact that ‘March Madness’ is definitely in full swing. Nobody can even imagine what Sunday will now bring.
To take a quick second just to recap BTD’s Yahoo! Tournament Pick ‘Em Bracket Pool, heading into the second day of the “Round of 32”, Saturday’s leader Randy Duncan has fallen into a four-way tie for 6th place and it’s now Jonathan and his aptly named “Can’t wait for Ethan Thompson” bracket, who have taken over the top spot. However, there’s still time for the rest of the field to make up some ground and potentially make a “Northwestern second-half push” of their own. In March, you just never know.
Let the madness continue!
