Green is a speedy running back from Chandler, Arizona. He will join former teammates Darell Garretson, Mason Moran, and Hamilcar Rashed once he arrives in Corvallis.
TJ Green also joins teammate Kolby Taylor (3-star WR), as the second player from Chandler High School to verbally commit to Oregon State from the 2017 class.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound back chose the Beavers over offers from Hawaii, Boise State, Utah State and many others. Green unofficially visited Oregon State this June and came away impressed with Corvallis and Oregon State’s coaching staff.
TJ Green marks the 14th recruit of the 2017 class to verbally commit to Oregon State. He will join Isaiah Miller from Baldwin, Florida as the second running back commit from the 2017 class.
While TJ Green’s biggest strength is his breakaway speed, he’s not just a scat back. He displays good blocking skills for the running back position. And he’s also not afraid to lower his shoulder and drive forward to earn a few extra yards.
