Wellsfry marks the 12th commitment for the class of 2017 and is the 11th three-star prospect of the class to commit to The Beavers.
Under Mike Riley's leadership, landing top recruits were a rarity. The coaching staff focused more on player development and were known for turning walk-on's into contributors at the division-I level. But, with Gary Andersen running the show, recruiting has been priority number one and the results are impressive.
Gary Andersen and his staff have been on a tear this last month picking up 9 offers. Despite Oregon State only winning two games last year and going a combined 31-43 over the last 6 seasons. As well as losing defensive coordinator, Kalani Sitake, to the BYU head coaching job. Recruits are still buying into Gary Andersen and trust his ability to turn the program around.
Brock Wellsfry is a tall, physical guard who is quick on his feet. He has a lean frame and needs to add weight before he'll be ready to contribute, but he has all the attributes and intangibles that you look for in an offensive lineman. This is a great pick-up for Oregon State.
