Game Notes

Oregon State and St. Bonaventure meet in the final of the Corvallis Sub-Regional this evening, with a trip to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament next weekend in Dallas, TX at stake.

The Beavers advanced to today with a 73-31 obliteration of the Troy Trojans to kick off Friday afternoon at Gill, behind a dominant performance by Ruth Hamblin. The "Canadian Hammer" posted an 18 point, 18 rebound double double, and also registered 5 blocks, and she did in in less than 3 quarters.

The Bonnies upset 7 seed Oklahoma State 65-54 in the second game Friday, behind a 23 point game by Katie Healy, to earn a shot at Oregon State.

St. Bonnaventure finished 4th in the Atlantic-10, but just 1 game behind a 3 way tie for first. The Bonnies lost to VCU 59-50 in their first game in the A-10 Tournament.

Oregon State will be looking to get beyond the second round, after being upset at home in last year's NCAA Tournament by Gonzaga. That disappointment, along with a flop in last year's Pac-12 Tournament, has inspired the 2 time Pac-12 Regular Season Champion Beavers to a strong run to this year's Pac-12 Tournament title, and carried over into Friday's dominating performance.
