With all the changes that have happened with the football staff lately, we now know that one position is going to remain the same for the foreseeable future. The Oregon State Beavers have signed head football coach Gary Andersen to a one-year contract extension. This extension will keep him under contract through the 2021 season.
While the Beavers finished just 4-8 (3-6 in PAC-12) this season, they showed improvement on both sides of the ball as the season went on, including ending the season on a two-game winning streak and beating Oregon in the Civil War for the first time since 2007. Andersen will look to build off of the late season success going into next season.
Andersen originally signed a six-year contract with the team when he took over in in December of 2014. He finished 2-10 in his first season going winless in PAC-12 play, but in year two his team looked much improved. Clearly there are high hopes for him going forward. The Beavers begin offseason workouts again on January 9th.
