Oregon State has announced the uniform for the season opener against Weber State Friday night, which will also be the Beavers' salute to the US Military, both active duty and veterans.
As seen in the promo picture above the athletic department released, the helmets will be the familiar white ones, but with a special version of the Beaver logo, with red, white, and blue stripes.
The logo at midfield will be similarly adjusted for the stars and stripes logo.
The jerseys will be black, and the pants white, with orange and black cleats to complete one of the more colorful looks the Beavers have ever worn.
It should make for as eye-catching viewing as the first look at the Beavers running the spread offense and a 3-4 defense will be.
Traffic reminder, this game starts at quitting time for most people, and its also the last day of Summer term at Oregon State, so very few OSU students and staff will be able to leave very early, if at all.
It's also opening night for high school football in the state of Oregon, and both Corvallis schools have home games, against out of town visitors. So do both the Albany high schools, all scheduled before Oregon State moved their opener to Friday afternoon.
And since most fans for the Oregon Stage game (and the visitors to the area high school games) come from the Portland area, the pre-holiday weekend Friday afternoon I-5 traffic, which would have been terrible at best, will be nothing short of a disaster.
These factors that will preclude attendance by some Beaver fans will also combine to make traffic and parking issues much more challenging than usual, so plan extra time before and after the game.
