After taking in the Oregon St. spring game earlier in the afternoon, many members of Beaver Nation will make the 2-4 block (depending on which gates they go in and out of) walk to Goss Stadium for this evening's middle game in the Beavers and 'Cats Pac-12 baseball series.
Oregon St. (24-11, 7-6) moved past Arizona (23-12, 8-8) into 5th place in the Pac-12 chase last night, when the Beavers rode Andrew Moore's complete game 5 hitter to a 3-1 win.
Today, the 'Cats will try to avoid what would be their 3rd consecutive series loss to the Beavers, and 7th in the last 8 years, by squaring the series.
There's no tv for this weekend's showdown, but the skippy OSU skip stream is available. That will be a good thing for some fans, as tonight's game is a sellout.
Oregon St. will start freshman RHP Drew Rasmussen (4-2, 2.44 ERA), and Arizona will counter with junior RHP Nathan Bannister (5-1, 3.60 ERA).
Rasmussen got the Beavers' only win last week at PK Park, allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits while working well into the 7th inning of the 4-2 win over the Ducks.
Bannister will be making his first collegiate career start, after 32 career relief appearances. He's been the 'Cats' preferred long reliever and also setup man this season, as Arizona continues to overhaul their starting rotation (2-way player Bobby Dalbec who made his first career start in beating Arizona St. last Monday is scheduled to go to the mound tomorrow).
