Oregon St. will be looking for a sweep of their 2 game series against San Jose St. of the Mt. West Conference tonight at 5:35 PM PDT at Goss Stadium, after taking a 6-1 win last night.
The 24th ranked Beavers (19-5) will also be looking to even the all time series against the Spartans (7-17), all of the games of which were played in San Jose prior to this week, as well as move to 20 wins on the season.
Oregon St. has won 4 in a row, with all 4 games in their 8 game spring break home stand, while San Jose St. enters this evening's contest having lost their last 6 contests.
The mid-week games won't be televised, but the Oregon St. internet stream will be skipping along.
Just as was the case yesterday, neither team made an advance decision on who to start on the mound. Pat Casey's call for Oregon St. wound up being to have sophomore RHP Kevin Flemer, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 5.40 this year in 2 relief appearances, make his first collegiate career start.
San Jose St. ultimately decided to start freshman RHP Matt Brown, who is 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA in a mixed bag of 7 appearances, 3 of which have been starts.
