Pending what BYU may do about hiring a head coach, which, if Oregon State Defensive Coordinator and former Cougar player Kalani Sitake winds up being the hire, Beaver fans might have to ask Santa for a new DC for Christmas.
Beyond that, Christmas shopping for Oregon State fans should be a little calmer this season than last year, when a new coaching staff had to be shopped for.
There's always the OSU Store and the separate on-line store for your supply of Beaver-branded T-shirts and hoodys and what not, but don't forget the Classic Oregon St. program calendars that our friends at Asgard Press have ready for us.
The 2016 Calendar is ready, and features program cover reproductions from an assortment of games from the past, including a 1956 Civil War program on the cover. That game resulted in a tie, but that tie was good enough to earn a trip to the Rose Bowl, and a rematch with Iowa. The Hawkeyes happen to be back in Pasadena this New Years Day, but if Coach Gary Andersen gets everything on his Christmas list of recruits, then next year could lay the foundation for the Beavers getting back there not so far into the future.
The calendar pictures are of a quality and on stock suitable for framing, and specially created with framing in mind.
And as always, they have calendars and posters for a wide variety of other schools, should you be a mixed-species household, or an equal opportunity fanoverboard.
They make great conversation, or in some cases, argument starters. Not that a good argument about football rivalries are ever a bad thing.
As always, Asgard has a deal for Beaver Nation. When you check out, even if you have bought a Duck or Husky calendar, you can use promo code buildingthedam15 to get a discount!
Check them out, get ready for next year, and give a gift!
Merry Christmas, and Go Beavs!
