USC (16-25, 8-12) at #7 Oregon St. (33-8, 13-4) / 12:05 PM / Goss Stadium / KEJO 1240 AM & KPOJ 620 AM
Game Notes / Gametracker / Live Stream
Having won 3-0 on Saturday to clinch the series, Oregon St. goes for their second consecutive, and third Pac-12 series sweep of the season today at noon against USC.
If the Beavers win, it will be their first ever series sweep of the Trojans, the only Pac-12 team that Oregon St. hasn't swept at some point in time.
Oregon St. will send junior LHP Ben Wetzler (3-1, 1.54) out at high noon to start the afternoon off. Wetzler has won on Sunday the last 3 weekends in a row.
USC will counter with freshman LHP Kyle Twomey (2-4, 5.43). Twomey has the only complete game this season for the Trojans. Twomley worked 3 innings after a planned 2 inning appearance for Trojan Friday starter Bob Wheatley, who was making his first after a blister problem, last Sunday at Utah, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs. Twomley was long gone before the Trojans pulled out a 15-10 10 inning win though.
A lefty on the mound for USC has prompted Oregon St. coach Pat Casey to change up the lineup for today, moving Ryan Barnes to 1st base, and inserting Beau Day as the DH. Today's lineup:
Tyler Smith-SS
Andy Peterson-2B
Michael Conforto-LF
Dylan Davis-RF
Ryan Barnes-1B
Beau Day-DH
Jake Rodriguez-C
Kavin Keyes-3B
Max Gordon-CF
