Oregon St. and Arizona St. resume their series with an afternoon game, as the Sun Devils try to bounce back after being beat by the Beavers Friday night.

Oregon St. co-leads the Pac-12 along with California. The Golden Bears downed UCLA 5-1 last night, dropping the Bruins into a second place tie 1 game back with Oregon. The Ducks downed Arizona 2-1 Friday night.

The Beavers freshman RHP Andrew Moore (5-0, 1.36) will take his Pac-12 best record to the mound , trying to move back head of teammate Matt Boyd, who moved to 5-0 last night, with a sterling complete game 1 hit performance that led Oregon St. to a 5-0 win in the series opener.

Moore had his bumpiest outing to date last Saturday at Arizona, giving up 9 hits to the 'Cats. But he survived a difficult 5th inning, and got 2 outs into the 6th still with a lead, allowing the Beaver bullpen to put the game away. It was an effort that was "off", but still good enough to get the 4-3 win, on the road, against a ranked opponent.

The Sun Devils will send freshman LHP Ryan Kellogg (4-0, 0.93) out to start. Or play tight end. Or grab a rebound. The 6'5", 220 lb. Canadian could probably also take a face-off if necessary.

Kellogg, who has the lowest ERA of any starter in the Pac-12, allowed only 3 hits and 1 run in 7 innings in the Devils' lone win over Washington St. last weekend, a 4-1 win on Saturday.

It will be an opportunity to see 2 of the best young pitchers in the country, never mind the Pac-12.
