Marty Lees is now the former Associate Head Coach of the Oregon St. baseball program. Lees, an Oregon native who has been on head coach Pat Casey's staff for 11 years, has accepted a similar assistant head coaching job at Oklahoma St.
Lees has been a principal figure in both the development of the Beavers' defenses, and as the recruiting coordinator, and was promoted to "Associate Head Coach" prior to the 2010 season. Lees was widely believed to be the heir apparent to the head coach job whenever Casey retires, and that still might be the case.
"As this process went through, it was a great opportunity to try something different, to be in a different area, and to work with a program that has a chance to be very, very good," Lees said.
Lees has explored other coaching possibilities, usually, head coaching jobs, in the past, and the job with the Cowboys, even not as the head coach, was apparently too good to pass up.
