NCAA Baseball Tournament Open Thread - Day 2 Afternoon Games

The OSU-LSU Open Thread should be up around 3:00 PM, but until then, this is the place to talk about all of today's tournament action. Go Beavs!

Afternoon Games That Beaver Fans Should Be Interested In

Belmont vs Louisiana-Monroe, 12:00 PM,
Gametracker - The loser of this game heads home, the winner will face the loser of tonight's Beaver game tomorrow morning. Both teams competed well until the late stages of yesterday's games, so this should be a great one with nether team wanting to go home.

Clemson vs South Carolina, 1:00 PM, ESPNU - No big ties to the Beavers in this one, but a rivalry game with everything on the line should reveal some great baseball. It will also be televised on the U.

Kentucky vs Valparaiso, 1:00 PM, Gametracker - This one is interesting for a number of reasons, the first being that this regional is paired up with Oregon's. Number two though, is that while the Wildcats would usually be a big favorite in this one, their bullpen and team overall is going to be exhausted after yesterdays' 21 inning thriller.

Indiana State vs Austin Peay, 2:00 PM, Free Video - Neither of these teams has a good chance anymore of advancing out of Eugene, but there's always a small chance until you are on that plane heading back home.

UCF vs Stony Brook, 4:00 PM, Free Video - I think the Beavers will host a Super Regional if they can get out of Baton Rouge and Miami (Florida) doesn't advance, but some people think that UCF would get the nod instead of the Beavs. So go Seawolves in this one. Winner has two games to win one in order to advance.

Afternoon 1 Seeds On Upset Alert

Texas A&M
- Mississippi has not been very hot as of late, but they looked very impressive in their 6-2 victory over TCU yesterday. Meanwhile, the Aggies struggled to put away fourth-seeded Dayton until the eighth inning.

South Carolina - Anything can happen in a rivalry game.

Rice - Both the Owls and Razorbacks struggled in their openers yesterday, and with both teams very evenly matched, this should be a good one. The Razorbacks brought a lot of fans over from Fayettville.

NC State - The Wolfpack should be on high alert this afternoon as they face arguably the hottest team in the nation, Vanderbilt. The Commodores have won 10 of their past 11 games, and are 9-1 through that stretch against tournament teams.

So, what games are you looking forward to? Talk about them in the comments section.
