Oregon St. was the last BCS AQ team to get their first commitment for the 2013 football recruiting class, but they have one now. Terin Solomon, a 6'2", 185 lb. safety from Murrieta, CA, has chosen the Beavers over offers from UCLA and Nevada.
Here's his highlight video, which features some high volume audio, but also illustrates his good closing speed:
Solomon is not ranked by either Scout.com or Rivals.com, but had a strong season for Murrieta Valley High, recording 103 tackles, and forcing seven fumbles. Solomon recovered three of the fumbles, and also and intercepted three passes, helping the Nighthawks to a 7-4 season, including a 3-2 mark in the Southwestern Conference, and a trip to the Californis Division II Inland playoffs.
Solomon's strength is considered to be run support by scouts, and if he bulks up, could conceivably move to OLB for the Beavers.
