The Pac-12 has announced its end of season honors, as selected by the media covering women's basketball, and Oregon St. coach Scott Rueck has been named the Conference Coach of the Year. In 2 years time, Rueck has taken a team he had to rebuild almost from scratch, one so lacking in players that he had to have open tryouts on campus in order to assemble enough players to have effective practices, into an upper division squad.

Picked to finish last in the conference in the pre-season, Rueck's team finished tied for 5th place in the Pac-12, with an 18-11 overall record, and a 9-9 conference mark.

Additionally, Earlysia Marchbanks was named to the All-Conference Team, Ali Gibson made the All-Freshman team, and Patricia Bright, the Pac-12's leading shot blocker, was named to the All-Conference Defensive team.

Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogwumike was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year; Washington's Jazmine Davis the Conference's Freshman of the Year; and USC's Briana Gilbreath and Ogwumike were named the Pac-12 Co-Defensive Players of the Year.

UPDATED

The Conference announced on Tuesday the version of the honors as voted on by the Coaches.

The coaches agreed with the media in selecting Marchbanks to their 15 member All-Conference Team, Gibson to their All-Freshman Team, and Bright to their All-Defensive team. They also agreed about N. Ogwumike as the Pac-12 Player of the Year and Davis being the Conference's Freshman of the Year.

Gibson was also an Honorable Mention to the coaches' All-conference team.

However, the coaches felt Stanford's Tara VanDerveer, who completed the season having led the Second ranked Cardinal to now 75 straight conference wins, was the Coach of the Year, and they selected Stanford's Chiney Ogwumike as their Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.
