Live cam from Gill Coliseum that shows the Basketball Practice Facility, Prothro Field, and the Truax Center. During football practices, they gray out Prothro Field. My company is erecting the CMU walls, so the big west wall that's being erected currently, and the scaffold that is servicing it, I'm largely responsible for. I use the camera to spy on our employees and make sure they don't do something stupid like wear Duck colors to work.
There's been a lot of days of doom for California against Oregon St. in the "Riley era", but last year's lopsided "runaway" 23-6 Golden Bear win at AT&T Park (Cal ran for just shy of 300 yards on the OSU defense) has the guys down at CaliforniaGoldenBlogs feeling cautiously optimistic about how their visit to Corvallis the weekend before Thanksgiving will turn out.

Wisconsin, whom Oregon St. will be hosting on Sept. 8 for the second game of the season, has named their starting quarterback, and for the second year in a row, they are going with an ACC-transfer. After experiencing tremendous success with Russell Wilson, Badger coach Bret Bielema has settled on Maryland grad Danny O'Brien, who as a grad-school enrollee is immediately eligible. O'Brien completed 342 of 603 passes, for 4,086 yards with 29 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions, in his 2 seasons at Maryland. He actually has two years of eligibility left for Wisconsin, having redshirted in 2009, and graduated in 3 years, which opened the door to escape the Randy Edsall era with the Terapins.
Former Oregon St. defensive back Brandon Hardin, now playing for the Chicago Bears, suffered a neck injury while making a tackle early in the third quarter of Chicago's preseason game against Washington Saturday night. Hardin stayed down for about 10 minutes before being placed on a backboard, and taken off the field on a cart. Hardin was moving his hands and gave the thumbs up sign as he left the field. "I think Brandon Hardin will be OK," Bears Coach Lovie Smith stated after the game. "He was moving everything. He was alert, conscious throughout. So hopefully everything will be OK with him."
Yes the Cubbies are not doing all that well overall, but our OSU Alum is playing some awesome defense.
Ugh. That hurts.
Mike Riley's father, and also the defensive coordinator for Dee Andros' Beaver Giant Killers from 1965 to 1972, passed away at the age of 86.
Wisconsin's star running back Montee Ball, the best back in the Big 10, was reportedly attacked by a group of 5 strangers this morning. Ball suffered a concussion, and was taken to the hospital, but was released and is now under the care of the Wisconsin University Sports Medicine program. Ball is expected to make a complete recovery, but there's no time table yet for him to return to pre-season preparations, which the Badgers begin this weekend. Oregon St. hosts Wisconsin Sept. 8, in the second game of the season.
