Adley Rutschman has gotten started early in the final game of the College World Series. With two on, Rutschman hit a grounder past the third baseman to score Cadyn Grenier, giving the Beavers a 1-0 lead.
Rutschman’s hit broke one record and tied another, Rutschman is now the Beavers all time single season hits leader. He also tied the College World Series hits record, with 15.

UPDATE: Rutschman did more damage in the bottom of the third, with a single to left field scoring one more run, giving the Beavers a 3-0 lead. That hit means he’s broken the College World Series hit record.
