The belief around the capabilities of the Beavers football program seems to be echoing nationally, as this week, Oregon State was voted as the #18 team in the land in the USA Today coaches poll.
The Beavers were the fifth Pac-12 team - at least for one more season - selected in the poll, behind USC (#6), Washington (#11), Utah (#14) and Oregon (#15). Other programs to receive votes from the “Conference of Champions” include UCLA (42), Washington State (4) and Arizona (2).
The four teams left off the voting spectrum include future Big 12ers Arizona State and Colorado, as well as those loyal to the conference in California and Stanford.
Coming off a 10-3 campaign, hopes are high for the sixth campaign under head coach Jonathan Smith, which begins in just 25 days, when the Beavers travel to San Jose State for their season opener.
