Over the last week, three Oregon State football players have been named to the bevy of college football preseason watch lists that are released, pinpointing some of the most talented pieces of teams from around the country.
For the Beavers, running back Deshaun Fenwick was named to Doak Walker Award Watch List (Nation’s Top Running Back), while center Jake Levengood was selected to the Rimington Trophy Watch List (Nation’s Top Center) and Luke Musgrave found himself on the Mackey Award Watch List (Nation’s Top Tight End). All three players are categorized as juniors in terms of their athletic eligibility, with Fenwick and Levengood both having previously used a redshirt season.
Fenwick tallied 448 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground last year for Oregon State, but is expected to be one of the top breakout talents in the Pac-12, with the Beavers regularly thriving at the running back position and the former South Carolina transfer seeing little competition for the lead role.
As for Levengood, a now staple of the offensive line that was considered one of the country’s elite a season ago, the center is set to lead the charge with 15 career starts to his name, while Musgrave is a veteran talent, who like Fenwick, is on the verge of a career-defining campaign.
Finalists and winners for all of these awards will be announced later in the 2022 college football season.
