With the 276th pick in the draft the Seattle Mariners grabbed pitcher Tyler Gough, an Oregon State Baseball signee.

Gough, out of JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, California, was the most highly rated player in Oregon State’s 2023 recruiting class, but was also expected by many to head straight to the pros. After a good performance at the combine, ESPN had him ranked as the 211th best player in the draft.
There’s a chance Gough decides to come to Corvallis for a couple seasons to improve his standing for later drafts, but most experts think he’ll be headed straight to the Mariners organization. The Beavers will surely miss his potential, but Oregon State still has a very strong group of players coming to Corvallis next year.
Stay tuned for more draft updates throughout the day.
