With the seventh pick in the sixth round, and the 173rd pick overall, the Chicago Cubs grabbed Oregon State Pitcher Will Frisch.

Frisch missed the 2022 season after season ending elbow surgery. In 2021 he was a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All American. That season he worked mostly as a reliever, appearing in 20 games and picking up a 3-0 record and a 2.38 ERA. Frisch was expected to compete for a job in the Beavers starting rotation last season before his injury. If he can recover he could be a key part of the Cubs bullpen going forward.
There’s a lot more draft yet to come and several more Beavers should be getting their shots at the pros.
