After losing a lot of players in the offseason, next season’s women’s basketball team is starting to come together. There was speculation that the Beavers would be hitting the transfer portal pretty hard, and we’ve started to see some evidence of that.

First up is Tea Adams, a graduate transfer from San Diego State. Adams is a 5’ 9” guard, who averaged 10.7 points per game last season. She had 74 assists and 64 rebounds, and seems to be an able defender, with 27 steals and 7 blocks last season. She’ll add some much needed depth to a guard unit that lost a lot of talent after last season.
Joining her on the Beavers will be freshman A.J. Marotte from Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas. Marotte had originally committed to Washington, but announced today she had decided to attend Oregon State instead. Marotte is a 6’ 1” guard, and was rated at four stars by prospects nation. She should be able to contribute right away.
With those two added to the roster, and Ellie Mack’s decision to return for an extra season, we’re getting a better idea of what the 2021-22 Beavers are going to look like. It wouldn’t be shocking to see a few more names added, and we’re still waiting on word of whether Jovana Subasic will return. But this team looks to be in much better shape than they were just a week ago, and there’s a lot to look forward to next season.
