Oregon State will meet with #2 seed Houston on Monday night (March 29th), with a trip to the Final Four waiting in the balance.
The game is set for a 4:15 PM PT tip-off and will be televised nationally on CBS. The Cougars reached the Elite Eight by knocking off #11 seed Syracuse in the final game of Saturday’s loaded Sweet Sixteen schedule. Prior to that, Houston defeated #10 Rutgers in the Round of 32 and #15 Cleveland State in the Round of 64.
Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson currently has his team in the midst of a ten-game winning streak, which included an American Athletic Conference post-season tournament title along the way. The Cougars are 27-3 overall on the year and haven’t dropped a game since February 18th at Wichita State.
As for the Beavers, their unbelievable run to the Elite Eight began in the Pac-12 Tournament, where Oregon State knocked off UCLA, Oregon and Colorado in succession to grab their spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament field. In the field of 68’s Midwest Region, they’ve knocked off #5 seed Tennessee, #4 seed Oklahoma State and most recently #8 Loyola Chicago by an average of 10.3 points per game.
