- The Oregon State women’s basketball program cleaned up their slew of awards on Monday, as senior Aleah Goodman and sophomore Taylor Jones were both selected as members of the All-Pac-12 team. Goodman and Jones also shared a spot on the conference’s All-Defensive honorable mentions category with freshman Sasha Goforth, who snagged one of just five All-Freshman spots in the conference. Fellow rookie Talia von Oelhoffen was an All-Freshman honorable mention.
- We took a hard look at where the Beavers women’s basketball program projects with the NCAA Tournament looming on the horizon and the AP released their Top 25 poll for Week 15 on Monday too, with Oregon State sitting right outside the Top 25 overall. The Beavers sit behind the league’s four ranked teams (Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, Oregon) and received the 29th-most votes nationally, tied with Oklahoma State.
- “The Pac-12 is the only Power 5 conference that has yet to release its 2021 football schedule” is really the only sentence you need to hear in reference to how far behind all the other leagues the “Conference of Champions” is once again. Yet at least, the plan is to release the 2021 football schedule for this Fall in a unique way, as the Pac-12 Networks have set-up a three-hour radio set with each of the league’s head coaches partaking and some other dignitaries set to hop in and share some insight on the upcoming season.
- A 5-0 record on the season. A 13-2 goal differential. A recent comeback win over Pac-12 foe UCLA. It’s no surprise that the men’s soccer team has continued to climb in the national rankings, now sitting at #8 overall and as the second-highest ranked Pac-12 team behind only Stanford (#4). With the red-hot start to the campaign, head coach Terry Boss, who took over the program in 2018, is now 24-12-5 overall with the Beavers.
- And finally, the NIT post-season basketball tournament is making some intense changes, including shrinking it’s field size from 32 teams to 16 participants, redefining it’s selection process of the teams and moving the whole event to the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is not the best of news for a hopefully trending team like Oregon State, who may have found a way to play theirselves into some sort of post-season action in a traditional season.
