As the 2020-2021 regular season wins down, Oregon State will hit the floor in a road environment for the last time on Wednesday night, when the Beavers travel to square off with an incredibly unique Utah team.
Most would say that the Utes were severely struggling in the midst of a recent four-game losing skid, but a surprise breakthrough win over USC - one of the top outfits in the Pac-12 - blurred the narrative around this group even more. Now, Utah is just Utah. An enigmatic as they’ve ever been.
At the top, the picture for the Utes is the same. Timmy Allen operates more with the ball in his hands than he ever has before and Alfonso Plummer has developed soundly into a comfortable second option, especially for a group that isn’t prolific at the offensive end.
But the rest of the heard hasn’t caught up and it puts way too much stress most nights on even a strong coach like Larry Krystkowiak to find inventive ways for his teams to get going. Sometimes, a team can’t escape their own fate and that’s this Utes team in my eyes, but hey, there’s still games to be played and oh yeah, the Jon M. Huntsman Center is never welcoming.
Get yourself ready for another rock fight on Wednesday night between the Utes and the Beavers.
