As the Oregon State Men’s basketball team was awaiting their seeding result for the NCAA tournament, Scott Rueck and the Women’s team received some huge news, picking up their third commitment of the 2022 class in five-star forward Timea Gardiner.

Gardiner is currently rated as the no. 2 overall forward and the no. 4 overall prospect in the class according to ESPN. She joins post, Raegan Beers and guard, Adlee Blacklock in the class, with Beers also a top-10 overall prospect.

Gardiner is a big-bodied forward, coming in a 6-2. She excels at scoring from the outside and has excellent footwork in the post.

One thing to note, Gardiner is coming off surgery from a knee injury that has ended her Junior year but should be able to back to action for her senior year.

Here’s what ESPN scouts had to say about Gardiner in September 2019. “Agile front court prospect displays efficient interior footwork, sells ball fakes and scores in traffic; emerging face up game in the key adds to the offensive arsenal; rebounds, physical on the block, workhorse on the glass; continues as a dominant post prospect in the class of 2022.”
