The unofficial tip-off of the Oregon State men’s basketball is slated for Thursday night, as the Beavers will take on Division II Saint Martin’s from the state of Washington in an exhibition game at Gill Coliseum. The contest is set for a 7:00 PM PT start time, but will not be televised or covered on the radio, yet live stats will be available online here.

The Beavers’ opponent, the Saints, were 2-10 in a COVID-altered 2020-2021 campaign, dropping games to Division I opponents Seattle and Portland State, and went 6-23 in the year prior. They were picked to finish ninth in Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) for this upcoming season despite returning their top two scorers from a season ago in guards Alex Schumacher and Tyke Thompson.

As for Oregon State, the Beavers are looking to build off a miracle 20-13 Elite Eight campaign in 2020-2021, as their new roster features a fleet of transfers that will need to help fill the void left by the departure of star guard Ethan Thompson and sharpshooter Zach Reichle.

Head coach Wayne Tinkle’s squad officially begins their games against Division I competition in five days, when they host Portland State on Tuesday, November 9th in Corvallis.
