Jermar Jefferson hasn’t had much of a chance to show off his skills in his rookie season, but Sunday afternoon the former Beaver and current Detroit Lion finally put some points on the board when he scored his first touchdown in his NFL career.

The Lions were getting their pants blown off by the Philadelphia Eagles, but midway through the fourth quarter they managed to get a drive into the red zone, and Jefferson managed to get the ball in from the Eagles’ 8 yard line, shedding a few tackles in the process. Its a familiar site to any Beavers fan.
Those were the only points the Lions put up today, falling to the Eagles 44-6 to stay winless. Their running game has been mostly ineffective this season, with the team averaging less than 100 yards per game. Jamal Williams currently leads the team with 312 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jermar picked up his first two carries today, in addition to the 8 yard touchdown run, he added a two yard loss, giving him six total yards in the NFL.
Hopefully Jermar starts getting a bit more attention in the weeks ahead, but its nice to see him finally make a mark as a pro. There should be many more touchdowns ahead.
