After an exciting weekend of Beaver sports, here’s your quick roundup of events from the past couple days.
Three Beavers Earn Weekly Awards
After their comeback win over Utah, the Beavers raked in the weekly awards from the Pac-12. BJ Baylor picked up the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week after his 153 yard, 1 touchdown game. Nous Keobounnam was also named the conference’s top Offensive Lineman of the Week, while Tight End Luke Musgrave earned Special Teams Player of the Week.
BJ Baylor Earns Honorable Mention for Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award
The Pac-12 wasn’t the only organization taking note of BJ Baylor this week, as the Oregon State running back earned an Honorable Mention for the weekly Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, given to the top offensive player each week. It is the third time that Baylor has been named an Honorable Mention this season, which should put him in good position for the overall award at the end of the season.
Oregon State Men’s Soccer Shoots Up to #1 In RPI Rankings
After a huge win over a previously undefeated Washington team, Oregon State’s men’s soccer team moved up to top spot in the NCAA’s RPI rankings. The Beavers also clocked in at #3 in the United Soccer Coaches poll, and appear to once again be national championship contenders. Its a great time to get into OSU soccer.
Oregon State Gymnastics Releases Schedule
The Oregon State Gymnastics team has announced their 2021-22 schedule, setting up what should be a very exciting season. Team veterans Kaitlin Yanish and Kristina Peterson return to welcome Olympic Gold Medalist Jade Carey to the program. Things get started on November 19th with the Orange and Black Exhibition, with the season itself beginning with January 4th’s Collegiate Challenge in Anaheim. The Beavers will then host a meet with Boise State, San Jose State and Washington January 15th.
