The 2020-21 Women’s Basketball Season is officially back on, and the Beavers have cracked the Top 25 on ESPN’s latest rankings. ESPN currently has the Beavers at #15. That’s down a bit from the #13 the Beavers finished last season at, but the team did lose its two best players in Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum. ESPN seems to have confidence that Aleah Goodman can step up as the team’s shooting threat while Taylor Jones and Kennedy Brown hold down the post.
ESPN predicts the Pac-12 to continue to be one of the best conferences in the country. They have Stanford ranked at #2 overall, Arizona at #8 and UCLA at #9. The now Sabrina Ionescu-less Oregon Ducks are ranked slightly ahead of Oregon State, at #11. Destiny Slocum’s new team, the Arkansas Razorbacks, come in at #13. South Carolina is ranked #1.
The season is set to tip off November 25th, though there’s not a schedule for the Pac-12 yet. There’s going to be a lot of changes for the Beavers this year, and now that the season is back on we’ll have full coverage going forward. Check back over the next month for previews for the Beavers and the rest of the Pac-12.
