As the calendar flips to August, college football’s return is theoretically closer. On Friday the Pac-12 announced a 10-game conference schedule only, with games starting on September 26th. Yesterday the Pac-12 players, said they won’t report to fall camp or participate in games unless changes are made. College football and the NCAA has largely ignored this pandemic and hoped for the best, but it doesn’t appear like that was a smart strategy. Regardless we will continue the top-20 list for the 2020 season.
#18 Andrzej Hughes-Murray - Linebacker
Last season Andrzej Hughes-Murray was ready to take the field as a starter, captain and senior linebacker for the Beavers opener against Oklahoma State, but it was all taken away from him has foot pain turned out to be a broken foot that required surgery. The injury wiped out his senior campaign and was obviously a huge bummer. Hughes-Murray still had a redshirt year though and was excited to return to Oregon State to finish his collegiate career.
Interesting enough, outside linebacker is arguably Oregon State’s deepest position headed into 2020. There have been a lot of linebacker injuries, but a lot of players have stepped up and proved themselves on the field. I still expect Hughes-Murray to start and play a lot, but he will be competing for snaps against guys like: Hamilcar Rashed Jr., Addison Gumbs, John McCartan, Matthew Tago, Riley Sharp and Isaac Garcia.
37 tackles... 4 sacks... 1 Interception
