It Is Your Duty as an American to Vote For Mikayla Pivec

It’s democracy season in America, and even if you don’t know what a caucus is, or how to pronounce Buttigieg, there’s an excellent chance out there to make your voice heard.

This opportunity comes to us from the Senior Class Award. The nation’s premier award for senior student-athletes released its list of finalists for men’s and women’s basketball last week. Inexplicably, Oregon State’s own Mikayla Pivec was left off the list.

After a huge outcry from her teammates, her coaches, Beaver fans, other teams, other coaches, sportswriters and anyone else with eyes, the Awards committee announced that they felt they had made a mistake, and added Pivec to the list of finalists.

Fan voting is now opening, and the response from Beaver fans has been torrential. Pivec currently leads with 40% of the vote, but nothing is guaranteed, so get in there and vote as often as you can.
