There’s no such thing as a bad win and in the case of Oregon State basketball, the Beavers have done it once again, holding off Portland State on Tuesday night in Corvallis by a 67-62 margin.
In the outing, guards Zach Reichle and Jarod Lucas each chipped in 15 points and forward Warith Alatishe added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds for an Oregon State group that now sits back over the .500 mark at 4-3 on the year.
In defeat, Portland State drops to 2-4 on the campaign.
There isn’t much to say about this one except it looks to be more of the same from a Beavers team who squandered a 32-17 halftime lead with less than two minutes to go in the game and was victimized by 24-9 and 12-2 runs by the Vikings in the final twenty minutes of action.
Guards James Scott and Paris Dawson led Portland State with 16 and 13 points respectively.
Another game that nearly got away from Oregon State will leave the Beavers back at the drawing board, scratching their head as to what needs to change to get this team playing consistent for a full forty minutes.
Up Next: Oregon State gets a bit over a week to talk things over and make some changes before Pac-12 play opens on New Year’s Eve against Stanford. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM PT.
