Best Week 3 College Football Bets

A lot of interesting non-conference Pac-12 games in week 3

NCAA Football: South Dakota at Oklahoma Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Two weeks of college football are already in the books. Last week was a rough selection week. Stanford and Washington were both big misses and Boise State managed just 14 points against Marshall in their win. Thankfully Oregon State and Ole Miss were winners, salvaging a completely disastrous week. That brings my total for the season at (4-5-1). Time to make up for it in week 3!

#1 - USC (-4.5) vs. BYU

Both teams are coming off big victories (Stanford and Tennessee). And as much as I didn’t believe in true freshman QB, Kedon Slovis, he delivered in a big way for USC. It certainly helps to have amazing WRs. BYU for some odd reason has been horrible at home under Kalani Sitake. Look for USC’s speed to be too much for BYU on Saturday afternoon.

#2 - Ohio State (-15) vs. Indiana

Indiana is (2-0) on the young season and is coming off a huge 52-0 win. I was down on Ohio State to start the season, but then they absolutely dominated a Cincinnati team that beat UCLA. Ohio State is just in another tier of college football teams, I’d be surprised if Indiana is able to keep this one a two score game or less. Go with the Buckeyes here.

#3 - Arizona (+3.5) vs. Texas Tech

I think Arizona certainly has it’s problems and is a flawed football team, but let’s not act like Texas Tech is an amazing football team either. It’s a home game for Arizona and Texas Tech has yet to play a competitive football game. Plus Texas Tech could be looking ahead towards their matchup with Oklahoma. I think Arizona could pull the upset off here.

#4 - Oklahoma (-21.5) vs. UCLA

21.5 points is a BUNCH of points. Especially for an Oklahoma team with a suspect defense. UCLA is just a bad football team though. I could be wrong and UCLA could start to turn the corner and be more competitive here than everyone thinks. But I just find it hard to believe that Oklahoma isn’t going to absolutely dominate a struggling UCLA squad.

#5 - Iowa State (+1.5) vs. Iowa

The battle of Iowa! Both football teams are good. Iowa State is at home and they’ve had two weeks to prepare for this matchup. I think Brock Purdy and Iowa State pull off the victory at home on Saturday.

I checked these odds on FanDuel late Sunday night so a few of them may have moved already. Also, I didn’t choose a side on the Beaver game this week, because sportsbooks rarely post lines/bets on FBS vs. FCS games. Best of luck picking and have a great week everyone!
