Best Week 4 College Football Bets

Lovie Smith has a gorgeous beard and his team is a big underdog

Big Ten Football Media Days

Big week 3 for best college football bets. The only loss was an upset overtime BYU victory over USC. Last weeks 4-1 total, brings the picks for the season to a respectable (8-6-1). The Beavers have a much needed bye week this weekend, but there’s still plenty of college football to watch. On to the picks for week 4!

#1 - Washington (-5.5) vs. BYU

Let’s try thing again... I know I just picked USC to beat BYU and that did not work out for me; but I think Washington is significantly better than USC. BYU has had a wonderful start of the season, but coming off two emotional overtime victories I think Washington comes in and cruises to an easy win. Take the points here and count on a tired BYU team to be worn out.

#2 - UCLA (+19.5) vs. Washington State

Taking UCLA?? Now look I get it, UCLA just got thumped by Oklahoma and Washington State is up to it’s old winning ways with Mike Leach at the helm. But nearly 20 points for a conference opponent? That seems like a lot. As big of a joke as Chip Kelly has been coaching at UCLA I think they’ll at least be able to run the ball a decent amount and keep the Cougars offense off the field a bit.

#3 - Colorado (+7.5) vs. Arizona State

Arizona is coming off a nice victory (Michigan State) and Colorado is coming off a discouraging loss (Air Force). Looking at these two teams I think Colorado is right up there with the Sun Devils as a football team and I think this game would be a toss-up if played on a neutral field. This line is way too high.

#4 - Illinois (+13.5) vs. Nebraska

I’m picking a decent amount of big underdogs this week. But I just can’t help myself, I don’t really believe in Nebraska. Also, Lovie Smith is awesome (did you see his beard??). Also can we talk about how this is the same Nebraska team that Colorado just beat right? Take Illinois and the points!

#5 - Oregon (-9.5) vs. Stanford

It pains me to do this... But how bad has Stanford looked lately? Oregon is a pretty good football team and Stanford has looked like a complete mess the last two weeks. KJ Costello returned to action against UCF; but their defense has been a disaster. Even if Stanford scores some in this game Oregon will be able to score 45+... I’m picking the Ducks to win by double-digits.

I checked these odds on FanDuel Monday morning. There’s always constant movement (I think Colorado opened as 9 point underdogs!). Also, any guesses for the Stanford/Oregon State line in week 4? I’m thinking Stanford shouldn’t be more than a touchdown favorite; but we’ll find out this Sunday.
