The start of Oregon State’s season is just 22 days away! With the off-season quickly coming to an end, Building the Dam is unveiling their top 50 most valuable football players for the 2019 season.

#20: Jordan Whittley - Defensive Tackle

Jordan Whittley is the highest touted newcomer to Oregon State’s revamped defensive line. The JUCO-product transferred from Laney College, which is the same school that was recently chosen by “Last Chance U” to film season 5.

Yes, that is Jordan Whittley No. 33 hoisting the championship trophy. Whittley stands at 6-foot-1 and 325-pounds. The former running back was moved to the defensive line after tearing his ACL and putting on weight (he was up to 390 pounds at one point). Whittley has surprising athleticism for his size and he personally takes offense if a team rushes for over 100 yards while he is on the defensive line. No team ran over 100 yards against his team in community college; a fact he is rightfully proud of.

In recent weeks both OregonLive and the Corvallis Gazette-Times have written features on Whittley. Unfortunately, in 2019 he will be a redshirt senior for the Beavers and will have just one year in Pac-12 to show off his skills. Will his presence be enough to boost the run defense? We’ll find out in three short weeks.

Projected Statistics:

34 tackles, 12 TFLs , 4 Sacks
