The players on the 2019 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List has finally been released and included in the field of 62 talents from over 30 different schools are two Oregon State football stand-outs, in offensive lineman Gus Lavaka and tight end Noah Togiai.

The award, which is handed out annually by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame, has included a long list of notable previous winners including former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota and currently Alabama gunslinger Tua Tagovailoa. The five finalists for the award will be announced on December 5th and 12 days later, the official winner will be named.

Of the 62 players on the list, 24 of the selected players currently compete for Pac-12 schools.

Lavaka has been a consistent piece on the offensive line for the Beavers at guard over his career, while Togiai is expected to play a large role in the team’s offensive attack as well this fall.

As noted in our Most Valuable Player countdown for Oregon State football, the program opens their season in just 24 days against Oklahoma State.
